Ariel unveiled the Atom 4, a brand new day weapon that operates the Power of the new Civic R-type engine for even more performance. Announced today, the Atom 4 may look like the old car, but every panel is new – just like the suspension, chassis and powertrain redesigned. Only the pedals and the fuel filler cap are found in the car of the previous generation.
The performance is as breathtaking as expected, with the tracked car capable of 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds and 0 -100 mph in 6.8 seconds. Prices start at £ 39,975 and deliveries will start from the spring of 2019.
A New Type R Engine
The Design ethos of 39 Ariel has always married a powerful engine. chassis, and the Atom 4 continues the trend. T The new car is powered by a 4-cylinder direct-injection turbo engine of the Honda Civic Type R K20C 2.0L – from the new Civic Type R.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged Honda unit develops 320 ch, adding 10 hp to the previous supercharged Atom 3.5. But, as we know from our long-lasting Civic Type R, it's the relentless way in which the K20C delivers its power that makes it great: with 331lb ft of torque, the Atom 4 has 75% more traction power than the previous car. Traction and launch controls are also available to get the most out of the Honda engine, and pilots will also be able to adjust the boost pressure – in the same way as the R + type R

Reworked chassis
The new tubular chassis of the # Atom is 15% lighter than the Atom 3.5 & 39; s, but offers better legroom, interior space and crash protection. A revised suspension features tweaked inside and outside points, with anti-squat and anti-workout to keep the car as flat as possible when cornering. Bilstein dampers and an optional semi-active Ohlins package are also available

Redesigned aero
Finally, Ariel examined in detail the flow of air around the car, reducing drag, increasing aerodynamic support and more efficient cooling, too. Ariel says that the aerodynamic balance of the car has been changed too, so handling should be more natural around higher speed and downforce bends – exactly what you want when you're at the limit.
