The protest against Mabatid and other respondents also failed to comply with the requirements set out in Sec. 11, rule 2 of the 2010 Rules of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.

In addition to the electoral challenge, Arguedo also filed a quo warranto petition against Mabatid in the Municipal Court of First Instance in the cities for failing to comply with the residency requirement. 19659002] Arguedo, 48, who lost to Mabatid by 1,464 votes in the May 14 election, asked Tecson to cancel or suspend his proclamation. Among the public documents submitted by Arguedo to the court to confirm the residence of Mabatid, appears his response to his working file, absolute deed of sale, request for investigation at the National Bureau of Investigation

Wanted for comment, Mabatid is confident that the case will soon be dismissed.
