LOS ANGELES – "Outlander" star Sam Heughan, who admits to wanting to play James Bond, trains in the comedy "L & # 39; spy who stole me. " [19659003] Exchanging his vintage costumes like Jamie Fraser for an elegant tuxedo, Sam seems to be 007-ish in his new film, whose name is a play on the classic Bond title, "The spy that m & # 39, loved it. "
Playing a charming British agent named Sebastian, Sam mates with two friends from Los Angeles (Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon) who are involved in a spy game.
Justin Theroux and Gillian Anderson are also stars in the spy comedy directed by Susanna Fogel.
Caryriona Balfe (Claire Randall) and Tobias Menzies (Jack Randall)
Excerpts from Our Conversation:
] Can you talk about the sex appeal of being a spy? Clearly, the film is a nod to James Bond movies. Or it's probably closer to Bourne's films, in fact, the tone and the action. I've always wanted to play James Bond. This is part of the legacy of every British actor.
I read a good book on someone from MI6 – his life at MI6 and what this daily life meant for him. This is a high stakes and dangerous situation. We had to make it real in this film for the comedy to work
We now have the first woman Doctor Who (Jodie Whittaker). Do you think that there will ever be a Bond woman? I'd love to see that. I would have liked the part myself (laughs) but if they want to throw somebody, let's take a woman Bond
Do you think it's possible? I think it's feasible, but who knows what Eon Productions and Barbara Broccoli (Bond movie producers) want to do
Who's your favorite James Bond? And if you were given the opportunity, how would you play it? It's hard, but I loved Timothy Dalton because he was slightly pissed off and dark.
Sean Connery was brilliant. I loved Roger Moore because I liked his eyebrow raise and slight camber
But if I had to pick one, probably Timothy Dalton. His "The Living Daylights" was more upset.
And what would I do? I want to see a Scottish link. I would like to see a young Bond. Let's see the beginnings, the origins.
Look, Bond is a bit of a dinosaur, is not it?
Daniel Craig started to bring him emotional depth and maybe we could go further with that. can do the action, and it is very amusing. But he must also have gravity. He must also have "who is he and why is he like he is?"
In making this movie, what scene did you get such a rush of adrenaline? This is the big action sequence at Café Sacher in Vienna, where I basically destroy the coffee cannons and kick me in the ass.
But to be honest, there was a shot at the top of the Berlin Museum. I'm standing there in a tuxedo and we had a great crane. It was one of those times where you are, it is a big movie, there is a huge camera on a huge crane there and we have hundreds of extras.
It was very bouncy, very chic and expensive.
Do you think you would be a good spy? I would be a terrible spy. First and foremost, they must adapt to any scenario. The spies are much infiltrated, it seems that in countries where it is hot, I am not very good.
While doing good acrobatics, women kick you in the movie. Did you like to see this side of women? They kicked me in the buttocks (laughs). Completely. Not only Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, but Susanna Fogel (director), she is the kick. She wrote this great scenario with David Iserson and she really directed it all with a lot of humor. She was always calm and in control
This is a comedy of action. How comfortable were you in comedy? I was terrified or intimidated, I would say. "Outlander" is one thing and theater or theater is where I come from.
Standing in front of Kate McKinnon's "SNL" or Mila Kunis was, from day one, a little intimidating.
Great learning curve for me-the world of comedy. There is a way to work. They have a lot of ideas. They are constantly changing the script. Each take would be different with these girls.
It was very fun to be in this environment, which is actually freer.
Susanna created this free environment, allowing people to do what they do well.
The premise of the film, also suggested in the title, is that by being a spy, it is almost impossible to have a healthy relationship in your personal life. Are you referring to that? Sebastian probably does not have much time for relationships. It's probably his job that got them screwed up. We can all relate to being busy. So, your personal life is set aside
When you cut your hair short for the first time, did you feel that Samson was losing his power? Oh, I lost power (laughs). May be. We have a large wig department (in "Outlander").
Yes, that's part of the character and certainly, by growing my hair, it becomes part of who Jamie is.
I'm afraid of cutting my hair, to be honest, because that's part of your brand and who you are.
Discuss this upcoming movie. It's "Bloodshot", which we shoot in South Africa. I love it there and it's a beautiful, amazing place. And Dave Wilson, who leads, has been collaborative and inspiring.
We also have an excellent cast (Vin Diesel, Toby Kebbell and Michael Sheen), so it'll be cool.
Susanna said the crew members had a sister, wife or girlfriend who wanted to meet you. It's about the character. Jamie Fraser is like this unicorn of men. To be honest, it's up to Diana Gabaldon and her writing that it comes back
How do you see yourself when you look at the mirror? It's not so beautiful …
Let's get away with the title. What did you learn if you were thrown out, if ever? I guess you have to grow from each relationship, is not it?
I hope you went from the last to find something deeper, more rewarding
From each relationship, we learn something, I hope.
Can you share the story of a date that was embarrassing? I had a date that I had to meet on the outside, from all places, Burger King. I waited four hours. I was 16 years old. I went to her house and told her father. I found that she had been waiting at Burger King just across the street. So, it's not going very well
At this point, do you have the habit of removing your shirt for scenes? No, [I’m not] It's part of the show.
Fans of "Outlander" count days until November. What can they expect in season 4? We represent America in its infancy. For Jamie and Claire initially, it's pretty good. We finally manage to see them together, to settle and to be domestic, almost
It is America in its infancy, so it is an immigrant land . It's interesting to see all these different cultures, in a big hodgepodge. Scotland is doubling in North Carolina where we are placed.
This finale is our strongest yet. You will need some episodes to get there, but without revealing too much, we have some remarkable Native Americans.
