Every year, everyone who registers at Comic-Con gets a huge tote bag, which is covered art of one to come, movie or television series. Warner Bros. has provided the faces of these bags for a while, and this year was no different. Ranging from Supernatural to Aquaman to DC's Super Hero Girls these bags boasted the key art of all kinds of projects.
This included a look at the last season of Gotham .
Although it was not announced in advance, one of the bag models contained the key art of Gotham Season 5
The art presents Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) standing on the edge of one of the decks in Gotham City that was destroyed in the season finale 4. The bridge is still burning explosions of Jeremiah
Almost all the cityscape behind Gordon teases a ruined Gotham.Fire and smoke rise from most buildings, and the city is in absolute ruins, which was expected given the history of "No Man's Land" that remains to come
However, taking a page of other iterations of The Dark Knight, there is full symbolism hope in the picture. A "night is the darkest just before dawn", sort of moment
In the right back corner of the art, you can see a projector shining through the smoke and in the night sky . It may not have the logo of a bat inside, but do not get me wrong, that's the signal that Jim revealed to Bruce at the end of season 4. C & B Is the signal that means that heroes still exist in Gotham City.
This is the signal that will one day tell Batman that someone needs his help, again sending the Caped Crusader to the rescue.
