The typhoon "Yutu" has gained strength in the Philippines' area of ​​responsibility (PAR), but should not touch the country, the weather bureau said on Wednesday.

"Yutu" offers sustained maximum winds of 160 km / h near the center and gusts of 195 km / h.

Ariel Rojas, weather specialist at PAGASA, said that "Yutu", which was moving west and northwest at 20 km / h, is expected to strengthen before entering the country on Saturday or Sunday.

The typhoon will receive the local name "Rosita" once entered the PAR.

Meanwhile, an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affects Mindanao.

The Davao region and the southern parts of Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos (SOCCSKSARGEN) will have a cloudy sky with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

The metropolitan area of ​​Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

The temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius; City of Tuguegarao 22-31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 14-23 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 24-33 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 24-33 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-43 degrees Celsius.
