Another civil security head of Peña shot dead

BACOLOD City – Suspected  New People’s Army (NPA) members allegedly gunned down the head of the Civil Security Force of Moises Padilla town Mayor Magdaleno Peña afternoon of Oct 27, 2018.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) identified the victim as Rusty Caminade, 32, of Barangay Quintin, an upland village of Moises Padilla.

Police reports indicated said Caminade rode his motorcycle heading to Poblacion town when six unidentified suspects blocked and shot him at close range.

Caminade died on the spot due to fatal gunshot wounds in his head and various parts of his body. He is the third civil defense group head of Moises Padilla to be assassinated by suspected NPA rebels this year.

Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 director, said that, “We do not condone lawlessness in Western Visayas that is why I have ordered the immediate arrest of those responsible in the shooting to death of the victim. We assure the victim’s family that we will not cease in our efforts until we have placed the murderers behind bars.”
