In the last six years, a Filipino investor has built a personal flying car.

according to Tech InsiderKyxz Mendiola has invested "millions of its own pesos" in the construction of this machine that uses 16 computers to light 16 propellers to get it over the normal ground transportation.

It takes two and a half hours to power the batteries that keep the car in the air between 12 and 15 minutes at a time. So, it will be suitable for a very short trip, then.

Mendiola's machine, the "Koncepto Milenya", can fly at a height of 6.1 m (20 ft) and reach a speed of 60 km / h (37 mph).

'Push a button and it will go up, then push the stick forward, it moves forward. It's very smart, which is why I say it has a lot of potential, "Mendiola told Reuters.

The "flying sports car" can support up to 100 kg and, according to Mendiola, could save many hours of travel in Manila, which is paralyzed by chronic circulation problems.

"When we have to go somewhere, about an hour away, it can take you there in five minutes," he said.

An additional safety feature is that the machine's 16 rotating engines allow it to continue flying, even if one or two fail, he added.

An Australian company, Star8, partners with Mendiola to develop the vehicle after a social media video.
