BMW begins production of the 8 Series Coupé at the Dingolfing Factory
After nearly 20 years the original E31 was stopped in 1999 , the BMW 8 Series has finally returned to production. Revealed last June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Bavarian automaker announced that the first batch of the Series 8 had entered production at its plant Dingolfing in Germany.
The factory recently received an investment of three million euros production, while currently producing the 7 series as well. New innovations such as the BMW ProGlove Smart Glove Scanner and Virtual Reality Glasses have also been used to accelerate production of the large tourer in the factory.
At the moment, BMW produces only the 8 Series Coupé. Note that it is also the first regular production BMW to be manufactured with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof (CFRP). We know that an 8 Series Convertible and Grand Coupe (4-door) are also underway, thanks to spy photos and concepts revealed by BMW themselves. That said, the three body styles should also receive M. treatment.

[19659004] For those who ask, BMW first revealed the 8 Series Coupe as a variant M850i xDrive.In fact, most of the images that have been revealed are of this particular appearance.However, it will not be the only variant to enter in production The 840d xDrive, powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine producing a torque of 320 hp and 680 Nm, will also come out of the Dingolfing factory with the M850i xDrive.
The M8, 8 Series Cabriolet and 8 The Gran Coupe Series will also come out of the same factory once it has been revealed.
