Apple has released more than 70 different characters to the emoji palette to celebrate World Emoji Day.

According to Jeremy Burge, the creator of emojipedia, July 17 was chosen as the day to celebrate simple emojis there because it's the date displayed on the emoji calendar.
Emojis are part of the daily communication of people, especially those who regularly use social media since the invention of instant messaging, using these little practical icons as a way to express feelings and thoughts.
