Bear vs Shark | Inquire Lifestyle

Face to face, finally. Bear Grylls has a wild time with sharks.

Bear Grylls survived all kinds of sh * t. In his "Man vs. Wild" show, he had wild adventures in Arctic waters, wild rivers, quicksand, snow-capped mountains, rainforests, jungles, lava fields. He has encountered all kinds of beasts, lions, rhinos, pumas and bears with crocodiles, snakes, scorpions and bees (do not laugh – that's how he discovered that He was allergic to their sting). The British survivalist had yet to do. He had not yet faced sharks.

Bear Grylls did just that for the 30th anniversary of "Shark Week", and he thinks it was the perfect time. "I've always been a big fan of what" Shark Week "means in terms of promoting conservation and it was extremely timely to be approached by Discovery to participate. I recently announced a diving and conservation experience at Bear Grylls Adventure Park in the UK. Our incredible unique diving experience will feature sharks and other aquatic creatures. Places and experiences such as our Responsible Aquarium have a positive impact on shark awareness and conservation through quality education and act as a link between visitors, allowing them a unique look at these incredible underwater worlds. The Bear Grylls Adventure will donate a percentage of each dive of this incredible diving experience to the charity Shark Trust to ensure the protection of these fantastic animals for future generations. "

In" Shark Week ", Bear gets closer to sharks." Super near and without a cage … It was a privilege to be able to study some of the biggest sharks in the Bermuda Triangle. I wanted to see how I managed when sharks have the advantage of the field and how we can protect ourselves if you ever find yourself alone and stranded at sea and exposed to a potential shark attack. It was really impressive to be out there beside these wonderful creatures and to feel their size up close, and we have the responsibility to protect them … The big lesson though if you are in the # Water with aggressive sharks is to stay calm and do not show your fear. They can detect it almost as strongly as blood in the water. "

We asked Bear what his favorite moment was during his meeting with sharks and here's what he said:" Working with local ecologists to mark the tiger shark C 'was a special moment for me and the team. There was a tremendous sense of care, purpose and focus that was put in place to make sure everything went smoothly and safely. For all that we can do to collect data and understand the patterns and behavior of sharks, we have a better chance of protecting this incredible species. "

" Shark Week "returns to Discovery Channel on July 23 at 8:10 pm July 29
