'Bully' jailed for teen beating in San Juan

A man is now in jail for beating his teen-aged neighbor who was lighting a candle in front of his house in San Juan City on All Saints' Day on Thursday, police said.

Alfred Pamintuan, alias Tampopo, 22, has security guard at 1 Goco St., Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, is facing charges of physical injury in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, according to a report to Senior Supt. Dindo Reyes, San Juan City Police Chief.

A drunk Pamintuan allegedly punched and kicked the boy, 17, and a grade 10 student, without any provocation in front of his house on A. Luna St., Barangay Salapan, the report said, quoting his mother, Anilita Diaz.

Diaz said when she saw her being beaten up, she sought assistance from authorities, which resulted in the suspect's arrest.

Police said the victim suffered from bruises on his body and face.

Diaz, who claims that the suspect always bullied her son, said she would be responsible for the arrest of the police at the San Juan Police Custodial facility. ED VELASCO
