Come away to a desert place and rest

The Gospel of today shares with us the great importance of rest – what it is and what it really is.

The disciples came back and gathered around Jesus to report on their preaching and teaching. As enthusiastic as they were, they were also tired and hungry to be surrounded by many people in their ministry.

Jesus said to them, "Come to yourselves in a desolate place and rest a little."

How fast do these words sound to us today! As you hear them, try to better understand the order of slowing down and resting.

Many of us can personally tell us how many times we have heard ourselves say the word "busy"

. The remorse when we utter them, but it seems that we like the pressure to hear the call of our phone, occupying things left and right, or just basking in our '' occupied".

Think of times when someone asks you how you're doing. What is our frequent answer? Well, you know the answer, although you refuse to say you spent the day resting.

Our value does not come from the hours we enslave at work all week (including weekends). Being busy is not worthy of being worthy of people around you.

More than anything else, this hectic pace to which you are accustomed is the sign of an unbalanced life. Can you really say that your busy schedule allows you to always deal with the things that matter most?

Jesus invites us to come back with Him. This is not just going for a trip and still bringing your precious gadgets.

Accept His sweet command to leave us so that we can prevent the burnout that we experience in our daily lives.

Try to spend time alone, time away from social media and technology and choose to recharge your spirits with God. He wants us to rest for a moment. Taking the necessary rest allows us to take care of others.

So slow down and let the Shepherd take care of you.
