For Christians, life and death are part of a belief system that should affect the way we live. Faith and death are inextricably linked. Death in itself is neither the beginning nor the end of anything. Life and death are the continuation of an existence that has always been here. Our life is only a temporary form of eternal life. Our faith requires more than a leap. It requires intellectual enlightenment.
If you believe in electricity, you know that when you turn on a switch, the room you are in becomes illuminated. You act accordingly. If you do not believe in electricity, switches and light bulbs have a very different meaning for you. If you believe in Christ, your vision of death is totally different from the one who does not. This knowledge does not facilitate the transition from this life to the other. However, it puts into perspective some things in this life.
I am now at an age when my mortality should be accepted, given the faith that I have in my immortality. After all, we are supposed to walk by faith and not by sight. To do this, we must accept an awareness yet to experience which is the foundation of our belief in the life, death and life of Jesus Christ.

In many cultures, the death of the world is considered a cause for celebration. It is, or should be, the same for Christians.
