NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The musician, singer-songwriter and producer Richard Swift, who has appeared on bands such as The Shins, The Arcs and The Black Keys, is dead. He was 41 years old.

A representative of Swift said that he died Tuesday morning in Tacoma, Washington. A GoFundMe account for Swift set up earlier in June stated that he was hospitalized due to a serious illness.

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of the Black Keys said in an article on their Facebook page that Swift was "one of the most talented."

Swift also released his own albums and was a studio producer and an esteemed musician for many rock bands

He is credited on The Pretenders, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Night Sweats and Ray LaMontagne albums NVG
