The president wanted to ensure the safety of passengers after the inauguration of the PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange), a state-of-the-art transportation hub located along the coastal road.

"I request the DOTr (Ministry of Transport) and MWM terminals to take the necessary measures to ensure that all transport vehicles using the PITX are in good working order and comply with our environmental laws", said Duterte in his remarks.

He added that these transit vehicles must also have "appropriate documentation".

The PITX, inaugurated on Monday, is a three-tier land port or an integrated and multimodal transport terminal. Landport, a public-private partnership agreement with MWM Terminals Inc., is one of the flagship projects of the Administration's "Build Build Build" infrastructure program.

Duterte said he was "impressed and proud" of the new transportation terminal that aims to ensure smooth and efficient travel for the equestrian public.

"The first integrated and multimodal terminal in the southwestern part of Metro Manila, PITX is a flagship project: a land port that looks like an airport and functions like an airport," he said.

He also assured the public that there was no corruption in the implementation of the latest infrastructure project.

He added that the terminal, which can accommodate 100,000 passengers a day, offers "a safer, state-of-the-art and convenient terminal experience" for the public.

It will also help ease traffic by limiting provincial buses on the roads of Metro Manila, especially along Roxas Boulevard and the EDSA-Taft zone, according to the president.

"It will also serve as a connection point between the provincial buses of Cavite, the west of Batangas, and other urban modes of transport," he added.

He added that the new facility also includes departure and arrival bays for buses, jeepneys and taxis. It will also provide a state-of-the-art bus reservation and online booking, as well as other amenities.

He added that the land port was one of three intermodal terminals developed by the government in cooperation with the private sector.

"With the Build, Build, Build program in full swing, I can assure our people that the government is making every effort to build the infrastructure necessary for the continued development of our country," said Duterte.
