MANILA, Philippines – A few hours after ending his "moratorium" on the Catholic Church's remarks, President Rodrigo Duterte met with the founder of Jesus Christ, Brother Eddie Villanueva, on the lands of Malacañang
. Malacañang showed that this happened at the Malacañang Golf Club on Tuesday night, July 11th.
Present at the meeting were the senior presidential adviser Salvador Panelo and the special assistant to President Bong Go.
Earlier that day, Duterte gave a speech at an event at Clark, Pampanga where he was back to calling God "stupid" and hitting his Catholic critics.
Malacañang had already said that Duterte had promised the conference of Catholic bishops of the Archbishop of the Philippines Romulo Valles that he stop commenting on the Church.
Brother Eddie Villanueva was one of the religious leaders who condemned Duterte's remark "God is stupid", saying that he felt "saint ang er" after watching.
Villanueva a stated that the remark was a violation of the Constitution that Duterte, as president, vowed to protect.
