The first Ford Ranger Raptor is off the production line in Thailand

For those waiting for the Raptor Raptor, here's good news: Ford has officially started production of the high-performance pickup of their Thailand factory

Ford Australia even released a 90-second clip documenting the truck's build process from start to finish.

A reminder, Ranger Raptor is not just a standard Ranger with a few bits to dress it up. The Ranger Raptor is powered by Ford's new bi-turbo 2.0-liter EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel engine. It produces 213 PS and 500 Nm of torque that is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In comparison, the standard Ranger is powered by either a 3.2-liter five-cylinder or 2.2-turbo diesel engine coupled to a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of style, the Raptor Ranger is inspired by its larger brother F-150 Raptor features wider wings and a larger ride height. It also comes with a new front bumper mounted on the frame and a large Ford logo embossed on the grill. Beneath, it is based on Fox Racing shock absorbers of 46.6 mm and is equipped with 17-inch wheels wrapped in 285/7 BF Goodrich off-road tires.

The Ford Ranger Raptor was first revealed in Thailand in March 2018. It is on sale later this year in Thailand and Australia. The Philippines is also expected to get the high-performance Ranger by the end of 2018. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.
