TACURONG CITY – Police launched a manhunt against strangers who ambushed and killed a former vice-mayor of Maguindanao in Barangay New Isabela Friday night
The victim, Roger Mamalo, 63-year-old former vice mayor of Sultan Sa Barongis in Maguindanao, was declared dead on arrival at St. Louis Hospital in Tacurong City, according to Supt. Joefil Siason, Police Director of Tacurong City.
Siason says that Mamalo drove his car home to Barangay New Isabela when two men on the roadside opened fire, using a .45 caliber at about 8:20 pm
claimed Mamalo was not going to be there. had no known enemy.
The motive for the attack remained unknown. Siason said the investigation is continuing.
