SINGAPORE – Grab, at A media event held at their headquarters in Singapore on July 10 announced the opening of its platform to micro-entrepreneurs' partners.

Called GrabPlatform, this API suite allows partners to tap into the Grab user database. In addition, it gives them access to Grab's service components, including transportation, logistics, payments, user authentication, messaging, ideas and mapping.

"Combining Grab's strengths with the specialized expertise of our partners will enable Grab and its partners to grow more efficiently and quickly to serve more Southeast Asian customers every day," said Anthony. Tan, CEO of the group and co-founder of Grab.

Partners have three options to integrate The first is to build in GrabPlatform – by directly integrating the services into the application Grab.

Second, they can "empower" their applications with GrabPlatform, allowing partners to link Grab's services with theirs. . This is similar to how Lazada and Shopee allow products purchased on their site to be delivered via GrabExpress.

Finally, they can engage potential customers via GrabPlatform by publishing their products and services in the news feed of the application. GrabRewards.

Regarding the selection of their partners, Grab stated that they are looking primarily for those who provide the daily services that platform users need.

They also ensure that two partners will not offer the same service. Finally, they said the partners should provide revenue opportunities for the 100 million micro-entrepreneurs who are already part of the Grab network.

In the same event, Grab launched GrabFresh, an integrated service that allows shoppers to shop and have their groceries delivered directly to their homes. The service is a GrabPlatform product involving the partnership between Grab and the popular online grocery platform, HappyFresh.
