Finally, the Toyota Supra 2020 will debut

After unveiling the GR Supra Racing Concept earlier this year at the Geneva International Motor Show and a number of teaser photos later, Toyota Motor Corporation has finally set a revealing date for the Supra Series model. The highly anticipated fifth generation generation model, Supra, will be world premiered at the upcoming 2019 North America International Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, January 14-27.

Throughout 2018, Toyota has regularly revealed the teasers of the next Supra. In fact, they even brought a prototype camouflaged prototype to the Goodwood Gear Festival, giving viewers the opportunity to see the action of the new Supra generation. More recently, in October, the Supra also took part in the VLN Endurance Nürburgring Championship, Race 9 and completed the race as part of the vehicle development activities.

There is a lot of speculation about the powertrain of the Supra and the fact that it is or is not offered with a manual transmission. If it follows the powertrain of the BMW Z4, it will be offered with a gasoline engine with four and six cylinders. Currently, the Z4 is offered the most powerful options 20i, 30i and 40i, with a torque of 390 hp and a torque of 500 Nm. That said, it is possible that Toytota refines the engine to produce more power.

Deliveries of the new Supra will begin worldwide by the first half of 2019. Let's hope that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) will also present its new sports car.
