WWE legend John Cena has been announced as the next Captain America.

Cena, 41, has focused on his acting career since he's part-time at WWE and has already participated in a blockbuster series of films.

His last appearance will be in Bumblebee, a spin-off of Transformers, but he has fueled speculation that he may soon be part of the Marvel franchise.

Earlier this week, he posted an encrypted message on Captain America's shield Instagram with stripes.

Chris Evans' contract expires after Avengers 4, the post has suggested that Cena could be the man who would replace him.

Despite suggestions, he will be the next Captain America, other reports indicate a different role.

Esquire says it's more likely that Cena will figure in the next Blank Panther 2.

There is no confirmation yet of his next role, but there is no specific date left for his return to WWE.

Cena chose not to fight at the recent crown jewel ceremony in Saudi Arabia.

He withdrew because of controversies surrounding the event as a result of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Cena seemed to break his silence as he was posting a message encrypted on Twitter a few hours before the event.
