Newton native John Krasinski traveled to Georgia over the weekend for the SCAD Savannah Film Festival with actress and wife Emily Blunt.
Both actors received awards for their work, including this year’s hit horror flick, “A Quiet Place,” according to the SCAD website. The movie, which was screened at the event, costars Blunt and Krasinski as a married couple. Krasinski also directed and co-wrote the film.
Millicent Simmonds, who played the couple’s daughter in “A Quiet Place,” walked the red carpet with them on opening night of the festival, when they received their awards: the “Icon Award” for Blunt and the “Vanguard Award” for Krasinski.
Hugh Jackman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer, Stephan James, KiKi Layne, Chloë Grace Moretz, Amandla Stenberg, John David Washington, and Kayli Carter are also honorees at the festival, which runs through Nov. 3.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at the festival, husband and wife shared each other’s favorite roles. Krasinski likes Blunt’s turn in “The Devil Wears Prada,” because it was one of his first introductions to her. While Blunt loved him in “A Quiet Place,” her favorite is “Away We Go.”
