Kelsey Merritt makes impressive debut at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2018

The debut of Kelsey Merritt at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show (VSFS) has finally come!

On Thursday, November 8 (November 9 in the Philippines), Kelsey made fashion history as the first-ever Filipina to walk the runway of VSFS.

This year, the fashion show was held at Pier 94 in New York City.

The VSFS 2018 was divided into five segments: “Glam Royal,” “Golden Girls,” “Flights of Fantasy,” “PINK,” and the collaboration with the “Queen of Prints” Greek designer Mary Katranzou.

The 22-year-old Filipino-American supermodel walked for the PINK segment of the fashion show with Josie Canseco, Maia Cotton, and Willow Hand, among others.

PINK is Victoria’s Secret line that targets young women.

The other segments of the fashion show featured famous models, including Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Bella Hadid.

Kelsey shared a light moment with Adriana and posted their photo on Instagram.

The Filipino-American model wrote, “Growing up watching the @victoriassecret fashion show, I wanted to be like @adrianalima! She is such an inspiration.”

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

Adriana received a standing ovation when she made her final walk in “Flights of Fantasy” segment of the VSFS runway after 18 years of walking for the show.

Meanwhile, Swedish model Elsa Hosk wore this year’s Fantasy Bra, which was made of over 2,100 pieces of Swarovski-created diamonds and a 71-carat centerpiece set in sterling silver.

The bra, which took 930 hours to make, was said to be valued at $1 million.

Another standout VSFS rookie was Winnie Harlow, also known by her real name as Chantelle Brown-Young, the first model with vitiligo to walk the runway.

The VSFS also featured performances by Bebe Rexha, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini, The Struts, Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes, and The Chainsmokers.
