The newly renovated Nissan Teana has just been introduced in Thailand, five years after the initial launch of the third-generation D segment sedan in Smile Land. It may have arrived in the ASEAN region a good three years later, after the application of this measure on the twin of the car, the Altima, in the United States – but you know what they say , better late than never.
With this update, the Teana shares the new front end with the Altima, incorporating the company's now standard grille, as well as LED headlights and boomerang daytime running lights. However, the rear end remains the same as the outgoing model, eliminating the larger rear lights and the Altima's redesigned bumper. The high-quality alloy wheels now measure 18 inches in diameter and feature a new two-tone design.
The interior has not been touched, but Nissan has seen fit to equip the Teana with driver seat memory on all models except the 2.0XE base model. The engines are also intact: the 2.0-liter four-cylinder MR20DE with 136 hp at 5600 rpm and 190 Nm at 4,400 rpm with natural suction, as well as the four-pot version of 25 liters QR25DE 173 hp at 6,000 rpm and 234 Nm at 4000 rpm. Both are associated with an Xtronic CVT, as before.
From a safety standpoint, the Teana receives a lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and a 360-degree panoramic vision monitor with moving object detection on the 2.0XL, 2.0XL Navi and 2.5XV Navi, joining the six standard airbags, ABS with EBD and assistance brakes and stability control.
The price starts at 1,336,000 baht (160,200 RMB) for the 2.0XE, up to 1,426,000 baht (RM180,600) for the 2.0XL and 1,476,000 baht (2007) for the 2.0XL Navi with a seven-inch touch navigation system. The 2.5XV Navi is 1,674,000 baht (RM212,000).
