Garena, the provider of the Internet platform for League of Legends in the Philippines, issued a statement Wednesday on the presence of malware in his client.

Garena's security team determined Wednesday that the code had no effect outside of the operation and that it had been removed from the client.

This is the second time that a malicious program has been found in the League of Legends installation program. included software that allowed theft of data rather than blockchain extraction. The company has long held a reputation for shady activity in the League of Legends community.

The Garena Pro League, the professional league in the region, was replaced in April by the SEA Tour. In February, two months ago, Vietnam left the GPL to form its own competitive region.
