LOOK: False warning on the high-speed rail system PH

Before our commuters look forward to seeing a map of what appeared to be a plan to build a high-speed train system in the country, be warned. This map circulating on the Internet seems to be a fake, warned Agence France Presse (AFP) on Friday.

In a Facebook post from a certain Jose Ramon Villanueva, a map had been uploaded, claiming that a high-speed train system was in preparation, indicating that he was under Duterte's regime.

"President Duterte is doing his best to improve the Filipino transportation system in the Philippines," he said.

AFP, however, refuted the existence of such a rail project and even claimed that the map was a fake, claiming it was a "complete fiction" by blogger Michael Gonzalez.

"Yes, it's my blog and I've created this map, a complete fictional work," Gonzalez told AFP.

Gonzalez added that he did not share his work, claiming that his content had just been used for "malicious purposes".

"I never shared my work anywhere claiming it was a real project, so someone had to take it and share it for malicious purposes." ", did he declare.

Timothy Batan, DOTr's undersecretary, denied allegations that there would be a high-speed rail network, but said it was planned to build one.

"It is planned to eventually build a high-speed train system (TGV) and the current pipeline of projects is being designed for a possible upgrade to the TGV," Batan told AFP.
