Mariah Carey had an unexpected “welcome to the Philippines” moment when she experienced one of the country’s traffic jams firsthand.
The Songbird Supreme, as referred to by the Guinness World Records, updated her Instagram Stories on Oct. 26 with a snapshot of various cars in a standstill as seen from the back of the vehicle she was on. “Stuck in traffic in Manila!” was written in the post.
Judging by the time stamp on her post, Carey had been on her way to the Araneta Coliseum for a live concert when she encountered the Friday night traffic jam. The fact that she was also going to perform in Araneta may have contributed to the volume of vehicles on the street at the time.
Two hours after her post in the car, Carey updated that she eventually made it to the Big Dome.
For one lucky fan, or Lamb as Carey’s admirers are called, it was worth waiting for the songbird to get out of traffic because he got to share the stage spotlight with her while she sang “Touch My Body.” /ra
