LOOK: Nina Dobrev encourages Kelsey Merritt for Victoria's Secret Parade

Kelsey Merritt has received the love of many Filipinos after being solicited to get her angel wings for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year.

The Filipino-American model has also won a fan – or perhaps a friend – in the actress "The Vampire Diaries" Nina Dobrev.

Dobrev, 29, had motivating words for Merritt, as shown by a post on Instagram where she shared a selfie yesterday, Nov. 3.

Women are seen in the open, with Dobrev in a hooded jacket and Merritt in a gray sports bra and matching leggings.

"So proud of this girl. First time in the #VSFashionShow this week, "she said. "She's going to kill him !!!"

Merritt and she train in the same gym in New York called Dogpound. It seems that both women had the chance to bond because both posted selfies together in their Instagram stories.

Merritt also posted a photo of the city of New York and said she had learned about the existence of a new photo application from Dobrev herself.

Merritt is said to be the first Filipino to walk on the Victoria's Secret Trail. She started modeling for the brand last May, starting with Victoria Sport sportswear.

Beauty queen Janine Tugonon is known to be the first Philippine model featured in a VS campaign, especially for the PINK brand.

The VS Fashion Show will be held this year in New York and will air on ABC on December 2nd. JB
