The invention of the words "doubt in faith" can be considered an oxymoron. Recently though, someone sent me this on Whatsapp, "Faith is a little word but has supreme implications." The problem today is that we have doubts in our faith and that we we have full confidence in our doubts. "Although the quote is a pun, it suggests that" doubt in faith "is not, after all, an oxymoron.And when one stops there a a little longer and compared with one's own "faith" in God or in an ideology, one would find that it is close to the truth, nor have doubts in the faith anything new. [19659002] Today, Christians observe the feast of St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles chosen by Jesus Christ and who would have traveled to India in the year 52. having established the first Christian communities on the southwest coast of Kerala, giving India the distinction of receiving the message of Jesus Christ before Many other countries in the West have even heard of him. That is why he is also known as the apostle of India. Despite being a great apostle of Jesus, Thomas won another, but not an additional epithet, to be the "doubting Thomas". For, after Jesus rose from the dead, Thomas demanded that he not put his finger in his side and did not touch him, he would not believe. The risen Jesus ends up obliging him.
There is however another interesting legend associated with Thomas. A merchant named Abbanes would have brought Thomas to the Indian king Gundaphoros. It was soon discovered that Thomas could build palaces. Then the king entrusted him with money to build him a big palace. Thomas instead used the money to help the poor, widows and orphans of the kingdom. He repeated that with the next sending of money and gold too. After a while, the king asked Thomas to show him his new palace. "The palace can not be seen here but Your Majesty would find it ready at the start of this world, in paradise," Thomas replied. The king was furious and put him in jail with the merchant. But a misfortune occurred on the brother of King Gad, who died and saw this palace in the sky. Gad received the request to meet his brother, King Gundaphoros, who, having heard the story of Gad, became a follower of Jesus after receiving religious instructions from Thomas. Thomas had done what he had learned from Jesus: "Store treasures in the heavens, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not enter and steal." Following this teaching would help us a lot in eliminating "doubts in our faith" and making this world a better place.
