MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) has announced that an investigation into the death of a Filipino overseas worker (OFW) was being investigated. investigation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued on Sunday, 4 November, the FDFA announced that 44-year-old domestic Emerita Gannaban has died of poisoning at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz hospital in Riyadh on 29 October.

Gannaban, originally from Kalinga Province, was deployed to Saudi Arabia only in June.

The FDFA, quoting Chargé d'Affaires Christopher Patrick Aro, said the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh is awaiting the results of an autopsy carried out in Gannaban.
