There are many family-friendly vacation events around the corner, including two parades, ice skating, Christmas lights and a holiday concert.

Here is what follows:

Veterans Day Parade

Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, November 10, with the pre-parade ceremonies scheduled for 9 am in front of the courthouse on Third Street at downtown Clarksville. The keynote speaker is David A. Wesner, pastor of Faith Outreach Church North. This year's theme is "Veterans who serve after service".

The parade will begin at 10 am on North High and College Streets, with the control stand located on the third side of the courthouse. For more information, contact the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization at 553-5173.

Holiday in the hand

Clarksville Parks & Recreation Holiday in the handA two-day, indoor craft market featuring more than 60 of the region's finest independent artists, designers and artisans will be held from 9 am to 4 pm Saturday. November 10and from 12:00 to 16:00 on Sundays, November 11th, at Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Christmas on the Cumberland

The 20th Annual Conference of the City of Clarksville Christmas on the Cumberland, a screen of more than a million lights, opens Tuesday, November 20that 5:30 pm at McGregor Park Waterfront Parkway and museum. This year's craft evenings, featuring artisans, dancers, singers and treats, will take place on December 8 and 15 from 6pm to 8pm. The kiosk is open every night during the Christmas period, Sunday to Thursday from 5 pm to 10 am and Friday and Saturday from 5 pm to 11 pm.

Winter ice rink

the Winter ice rink in the city center open on Friday, November 23, with a bigger rink and more features. Golly G will be selling refreshments this year at the rink. The rink will be open until January 21st. Opening hours will be Thursdays and Fridays from 5 pm to 10 pm; Saturdays from 11h to 22h and Sundays from 14h to 22h Tickets cost $ 12 for adults and $ 10 for children under 12 years. "December Eve" at UPSA

This year's edition of Christmas with David Steinquest and his friends, entitled "December Eve", will include selections from "While Shepherds Watched" by We Three & the Kings, "Do you hear what I hear" from Paul Carrol Binkley, "Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant" and "My vacation" by Mindy Smith, with new songs and Christmas standards. The performance is Friday, November 30at 19:30 in the Mabry Concert Hall. Admission is two boxes of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $ 5. Bring your cans to the music office in the Music / Comm. Comm. (Room 139, 221-7818). Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 16, and all are sold. To buy tickets, go to Google AP Marketplace.

Spiritfest Clarksville

Spiritfest, the annual event before the parade, will begin at 14:00. the Saturday, 1st December. Activities will take place at Downtown Commons; at First Presbyterian Church213 Main Street; and Episcopal Church of TrinidadThere will be inflatable structures for children, Santa Claus, live music, a sale of artists, free desserts and hot chocolate, food trucks and a living nativity scene (including a camel).

Christmas parade
