Philippine National Police Chief Executive Oscar Albayalde denied allegations by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV that police escorts had been unceremoniously removed.

In a press briefing at Crame Camp in Quezon City on Monday, Albayalde "Senator's police escorts had just expired."

"Remember, this is not permanent, and once it has expired, [the escorts] will not be able to stay with the VIP forever," he said.

The PNP chief stated that the period of assignment of the staff of the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) had lasted only one year.Albayalde said that he had previously ordered the PSPG to provisionally provide Trillanes with two police security officers.

He said that Trillanes had a security post of eight men whereas he had only two. – Jaymee T. Gamil with trainees Julia Ornedo and Andrea Alcaraz
