Ram customizes the 1500 Trucks for off-road and street use

This year’s SEMA show will see Ram unveil two stylish 1500 pickup truck concepts. Each concept will highlight the Ram 1500’s ability to go off the beaten path, as well as look good while on the street.

First up is the Ram 1500 Rebel Concept modified by Mopar. Featuring over 200 parts and accessories for the all-new pickup truck, the Rebel Concept further reinforces the 1500’s off-road capability.

It’s painted in a unique blue hue dubbed ‘Rebel Smoke’ and comes with a two-inch lift kit for better ground clearance. Meanwhile, Satin Black 18-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch Goodyear Duratrac tires give the Rebel Concept a commanding view of the road and improved traction on any terrain. In addition, the custom pickup truck also gets aluminum running boards, dark-colored wheel arches, and Gray Metallic skid plates.

Mounted on a bed are 5-inch LED lights that provide additional illumination when going on a trail. In addition, the bed also comes with a spare tire carrier and black bedliner. Finishing the exterior upgrades are the Ram performance hood, Satin Black Rebel graphics and Mopar 5-inch Gloss Black exhaust tips.

Inside, the cabin features a monochromatic look which replaces the traditional anodized red Rebel trim finish. There are also other Mopar accessories which consist of all-weather floor mats, brushed and polished door sill guards, wireless phone charging and a custom pedal kit.

Under the hood is an upgraded 5.7-liter HEMI V8 which gets a Ram Airflow cold air intake system. Exact output figures were not released but Ram said that it gets an additional performance bump over the stock engine.

If style is what you’re after, Ram also has the 1500 Big Horn ‘Low Down’ Concept. Essentially a “slammed-to-the-street” modification, it comes with a two-tone exterior paint that Ram calls ‘Brassphault’. The upper portion is painted in Gloss Black while the lower section is finished in Billet Silver that gives it a sleek look.

From its namesake, the ‘Low Down’ Concept’s ride height has been dropped two-inches thanks to a prototype lowering kit. Meanwhile, overly-large 22-inch alloy wheels painted Gloss Black give the pickup truck a more aggressive stance and look. The bed, on the other hand, gets a one-piece tonneau cover that is also finished in Gloss Black.

Like the Rebel Concept mentioned earlier, the Low Down also comes with all-weather floor mats, brushed and polished aluminum door sill plates and bright pedal kits. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under the hood also comes with a Ram Airflow cold air intake system which provides additional horsepower and torque.

Both the Ram Rebel and Low Down 1500 Concepts will make their official debut at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
