Subaru celebrates 30th anniversary of STI with 329 PS WRX STI Type RA-R
Subaru Technica International, better known as STI, celebrates 30 years this year . Founded in 1988, the internal tuning division has deployed icons such as the first-generation STI Impreza and the Impreza 22B, the latter being released 21 years ago. For the 30th anniversary th of the tuning division, Subaru has deployed the WRX STI Type RA-R
Packing 329 PS, type WRX STI RA-R is the most powerful model to come out of the factory. That's a gain of 29 PS and everything depends on a modified intercooler, a performance exhaust and a readjusted ECU. Unlike most markets, Japan's WRX STI uses a 2.0-liter boxer engine instead of a 2.5-liter boxer. Limited to only 500 units, it is not expected to bring it out of its home market. Needless to say, Japan will retain the most powerful STI for itself.
In addition to more power, the WRX STI receives a diet. Some features have been removed from the car, and carbon fiber has been added too. As a result, Subaru said that it is 30 kg lighter than older RA-type models. the limited-edition special model is visually similar to the standard WRX STI, but there are some clues that make it stand out a bit more. For beginners, there is a red band on the grill, with another red band at the back. Lateral mirrors, now finished with carbon, are equipped with vortex generators and the roof is now made of carbon fiber. Wrap changes are a set of larger 19-inch alloy wheels. The signature rear wing is an option for the RA-R type.
