President Rodrigo Duterte's net confidence rating rose in the third quarter of 2018 and remains in the "very good" category, according to a recent poll by Social Weather Stations (SWS).

According to the latest survey, Duterte's net confidence rating increased to +62, an increase of five points from the previous level of +57.

The survey, conducted from September 15 to 23 through face-to-face interviews, also revealed that 74% of the 1,500 respondents nationwide reported having "a lot trust "in the president.

According to SWS, the five-point increase in the president's net satisfaction could be attributed to the increase in the Metro Manila and Balance Luzon ratings, combined with stable scores in the Visayas and Mindanao.

Respondents in metropolitan Manila gave the president a nine-point increase, while Libra Luzon gave him a 10-point increase.

At the same time, Duterte's net score remained "good" for participants coming from Visayas and "excellent" for those coming to Mindanao.

The study also showed that 14% remained undecided, while 12% said they did not trust the president.

The polling agency has so far conducted nine investigations, from September 2016 to September 2018.

The President received an "excellent" net score in the fifth survey and a "very good" net score in the fourth survey.

According to SWS, this gave the president a net average trust rating of "very good", or over-68, for his two years in Malacañang. / jpv / atm
