Fiat publishes 500 Spiaggina's 58 special edition
The Fiat 500 is one of those cars that we would like to see more on our roads, but given lack of a distributor, we will have to fend off online. Which is a shame, just as they just released a limited edition retro tribute to another Fiat 500 special edition.
Here is the Fiat 500 Spiaggina 's 58 Special Series, a modern interpretation and celebration of the classic Fiat 500 Jolly "Spiaggina". The modern Spiaggina debuts exactly 60 years since the original was revealed in the summer of 1958.
The modern Fiat Spiaggina is based on the 500C; the convertible version of the diminutive 500, or Cinquecento . The car, already a retro interpretation of the original 50s, has been made even more retro. They got the effect using details such as the vintage Fiat logo, classic chrome and fonts for the Spiaggina emblem. In addition, Fiat has installed a set of wheels that mimic the white sides of classic models, which accentuate the special shade of azure that Fiat calls Volare Blue.
The 500 Spiaggina 's Cabin' 58 presents the same Volare Blue with ivory coating and gray striped base. Special floats and a steering wheel with the same vintage Fiat emblem round off the interior.
Of course, being a modern Fiat, this model comes with the Uconnect 7 inch touch infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Spiaggina 500 '58 is front-wheel drive, and is powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine power Before you make fun of the power, consider that the original air-cooled Fiat 500 Jolly was powered by an air-cooled 22-liter engine horses.
"The new" Spiaggina "58" is our gift to 500 for his birthday and the 60th anniversary of the "Spiaggina", a real "time machine" incorporating many reminders of the Dolce Vita era, such as logos and rims Vintage Fiat, the white lining, the choice of convertible format and the two-tone interior, "says Luca Napolitano, Director EMEA Brands Fiat & Abarth.
