While two power companies are grappling with a dispute over the right to distribute power in the city of Iloilo, the municipal government plans to take office.
City Councilor R. Leone Gerochi said that the city could resume the tasks of distributing power, under the authority of the police.

But PECO is questioning the power distribution capacity of MORE Power, which has ensured the appointment of the House and Senate committees on public services.
Gerochi, however, said the transition could be difficult as a result of CEEC's claim that it will not sell its assets to MORE Power.
