Isidro Lapeña, a member of the Customs Bureau (BDC), denied on Tuesday allegations that he would be involved in concealing the smuggling of a "shabu" (crystal meth) of an estimated value of 6 , 8 billion pounds sterling through the port of Manila.

Ma. Lourdes Mangaoang, Deputy Collector of Passenger Services at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, asserted that Lapeña had done nothing about reports of alleged illegal drugs concealed in two magnetic trolleys at the international port of Manila (MICP).

"The statements that I did not do anything with this incident and that I'm trying to cover up are totally false and I say that they were maliciously charged," Lapeña said at the press conference. A point of press.

"The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and almost all members of the BDC know that the MICP took immediate action right from the start of their discovery," he added. / ee
