TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – Supporters of the President's Special Assistant (SAP) Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go gathered at Holy Name University (HNU) on Saturday to launch the Bohol "Bayan for Bong Go" movement which aims to encourage it to seek a seat in the Senate in 2019.
Attended at least 17 mayors , barangay and SK officials and volunteers from different parts of the province.
Mayors who witnessed the movement were Tagbilaran mayor Baba Yap, mayors of Clarin, mayors of Clarin, Lynn Iven Lim of Cortes, Marietta Sumaylo of Dauis, Judith Cajes of Trinidad, Restituto B. Auxtero of Talibon, Sofronio Dagohoy's Apat, Pedro Fue Rtes of Panglao, Tita Gallentes of Garcia Hernandez, Nelson Yu of Calape, Regina Salazar of Lila, Ricardo Suarez of Sagbayan, Eugenio Buslon Datahan II of Pilar, William Jao of Tubigon, Christopher Bernados Tutor of Candijay, José Mario Pahang of Antequera and Marnilou Ayuban of Alicia
Also present were the former mayor of Loay Rosemarie Lim-Imboy and the former mayor of Loboc Leon Calipusan
Bohol has 47 cities and a city.
Businessman Lucio Lim, Jr., president of the movement, said they saw Go's potential and encouraged him to run for the mid-term elections of 2019.
"We let's call SAP Bong Go to be a candidate – here in Bohol, members of the business community want him to show up, "Lim said.
"He comes from a family of businessmen, he is very accessible, (and) humble," he added.
Lim said that being the president's direct link with the people, Go promised to continue the presidential campaign against illegal drugs, crime and corruption. He also said that he supported Duterte's anti-poverty efforts.
"SAP Bong Ro represents change, it gives us hope that the legacy of President Duterte can continue through SAP Bong Go in the Senate," said Lim.
Go could not attend the launch because he was with the president.

He was still considering whether to sit in the senatorial race.
