The special edition SUV rivaling Fortuner has a sporty look and more features.

Nissan has unveiled a special edition of SUV Terra, called "S", at the 2018 Philippine Motor Show. It seems to be focusing on style, with all the changes made to the standard car in the Philippines. The Nissan Terra SUV is a brand new offering to take on key rivals such as Fortuner and Endeavor (Everest in some markets).

On the outside, the Nissan Terra S features the most aggressive and rugged side of the standard Nissan Terra SUV on which it sits. Unlike conventional Terra models, the S has a closed air intake, a fog light box on the lower part of the front fairing and darkened headlights. The hood has been endowed with a two-tone color palette to accentuate the aggressive design language. Passing by the sides, the SUV now has an additional body coating that adds to the overall width of the car. The wings were considerably flared and the steps were blackened. The Terra S is based on 20-inch alloy wheels with a unique design that enhance its high-end look. At the rear of the vehicle, a characteristic black fin has been installed and the bumper has been redesigned to look like a diffuser. The upper half of the tailgate has a two-tone paint matching the hood. The bodywork has a metallic paint finish.

Inside, the dashboard of the Terra S is identical to that of the standard model. However, it is finished in a two-tone black-and-white scheme. The seats are now upholstered in leather and finished with a quilted pattern of high quality, which gives the interior a premium look. Some finish pieces also seem to be finished in a material similar to Alcantara leather. The most remarkable feature of the cabin is the 'Terra S' logo with complex seams on the front headrests.

Nissan has not yet officially revealed the engine specifications and performance of the Terra S. However, it is likely that the proposed engine will be the same as that of the standard model, namely a turbocharged diesel engine of 2.5 liters, four-cylinder, producing 190 hp at 3600 rpm and a torque of 450 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It should have a 7-speed automatic transmission and it seems that the part-time all-wheel drive system is missing; this means that the SUV could be powered only.

There is no news of the Nissan Terra coming soon to our shores; However, we believe that the SUV could be a serious competitor in the ever-growing SUV segment in India.
