Opposition Senator Antonio Trillanes IV called on the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police to reconsider their decision to recall his coordinates at the end of June.
Trillanes, constant criticism President Rodrigo Duterte revealed that all his security escorts of the police and the army had been withdrawn last month.
It was contrary to PNP's claim that military personnel still protected him, Trillanes said. He also did not receive security details from the Senate, he said.
"I have already written to AFP to reconsider its decision.Thus, this is still pending.I would prefer that this be resolved with finality first," he said. in a telephone interview.
He also made a similar request to the PNP, he added.
No explanation was given when his security escorts were recalled last month, he said.
But he said that the PNP's invocation of the doctrine of Alunan, which states that the officials could only have two security guards, was incorrect because he had no more security detail of the government.
One of the most vocal opponents of the president, Trillanes, was also the subject of his tirades.
Last month, the president said that someone had to shoot Trillanes because what he said was the arrogance of the lawmaker.
"He always calls for a fight.He believes that he is the only one who is hard because no one has pushed him back.But it will come one day that someone will have a fight. will shoot down because he's arrogant, "said Duterte about Trillanes in a speech in Cebu City
Trillanes then warned that shooting him would have detrimental consequences for the president.
"Go ahead, Mr. Duterte, order someone to shoot me and, I assure you, that will bring you to an end," he said last month.
