Saturday Night Live returns next weekend, and the show just announced its first hosts and musical guests of 2021. The first return episode, 1/30, will feature John Krasinski as the host and Machine Gun Kelly in as a musical guest, but the big news here is on who Phoebe Bridgers is going to be SNL next month.
Bridgers, continuing his rapid rise to mainstream stardom, is set to play 2/6 of the series; Schitt Creek co-creator and star Dan Levy will host. Chris DeVille from Stereogum predicted this in September, so we’ll consider this official confirmation that Lorne Michaels is reading the site. Hi Lorne!
The following episode will be hosted by Regina King with Nathaniel Rateliff as musical guest. It doesn’t matter that all of the hosts and musical guests in this bundle – John Krasinski, Machine Gun Kelly, Dan Levy, Phoebe Bridgers, Regina King and Nathaniel Rateliff – are SNL beginners.
