Phoebe Bridgers issued a statement after being among several women who accused Ryan Adams of abuse and sexual misconduct in a New York Times report. "It's a weird week," she wrote, "and I meant two things. Thank you with all my heart, to my friends, my groups, my mother. They all supported me and validated me. They told me that what had happened was screwed up in the air and that I was right to feel weird about it. I could not have done that without them. "

"Ryan also had a network," Phoebe continued. "Friends, groups, people he worked with. None of them held him accountable. They told him, by what they said or what they did not say, that what he was doing was good. They validated it. He could not have done that without them. Guys, if your friend is screwed in the air, call them. If they are really your friends, they will listen to you. That's how everything improves.

Mandy Moore, Adams' ex-wife who was also among his accusers, sharing Phoebe's statement with the addition, "Facts. Thank you, @phoebe_bridgers. ❤️ you.

Jenny Lewis, who worked with Adams on his next album On the line, also shared a statement about him. "I am deeply troubled by the alleged behavior of Ryan Adams," she writes. "Even if he and I had a professional relationship, I stand in solidarity with the women who came forward.

Adams & album Big colors is pending as a result of the allegations, and the F.B.I. opened an investigation into the nature of his communications with one of his then minor accusers. Adams denied the allegations.
