Disney has just announced that The Hall of Presidents will reopen in August. The opening day attraction has been closed since January to add President Joe Biden to the scene, and a first look at the new animatronic has been shared.
Since the opening day of Magic Kingdom Park in 1971, The Hall of Presidents has brought America’s heritage to life and shared the symbolic importance and uniqueness of the President’s office. Nearly 50 years later, the story of the freedom rulers continues to be told and told to new generations as Walt Disney originally envisioned.
In recent months, work is underway to add President Joe Biden to the scene as 46e The president of the United States. As Disney Imagineers puts the finishing touches on the show, which will debut for guests in August, we’re sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the latest update.
Just as Walt envisioned, the creative teams have been busy programming a Audio-animatronics Presidential reply, coupled with a presidential oath taken at the White House by President Biden himself just for the sake of attraction. Every detail is brought together to create a realistic and symbolic glimpse of the President’s office over the years, from the carefully tailored clothing to the props, documents and furniture placed throughout the stage. On your next visit, you may notice that the table next to President Biden is adorned with a few special items, each with their own meaning for the president, including peach blossoms to represent his home state of Delaware and a pair of aviators as a nod to his penchant for sunglasses.
And for those who are curious about what happens to Presidents of the Presidents’ Room after their term ends, the Audio-animatronics figure of former President Donald J. Trump will take his place on stage among those who have already served.
