Phyllis Newman passed away at 86 years old

Newman made his 4-year show business debut by imitating Carmen Miranda in theaters and clubs. Her rendition of Martha Vail in Jule Styne / Comden and the green musical Subways Are For Sleeping – costumed only in a bath towel – earned her a Tony Award.
