FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The top-ranked and fourth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks finished the NCAA at Fayetteville Regional on Sunday night, eliminating the three-header TCU, 6-0, to their eighth NCAA Super Regional in the history of the program.
The Razorbacks (44-17) are back in the super regional for the second year in a row. This is the first time Arkansas has reached the top two years in a row, between 2009 and 2010. It was also the eighth time an Arkansas team managed to get out of a regional without a loss. .
Arkansas will face SEC member Ole Miss in next week's Super Regional, while the Rebels finished the NCAA Oxford Regional with three straight wins. As the eighth-seeded national, Arkansas will host the NCAA Tournament Super Regional Round, but dates and times for the Fayetteville Super Regional will not be fixed until Tuesday. This will be the fourth time Fayetteville has organized a great area in the history of the school.
Arkansas comes out early
For the first time in the region, Arkansas was able to double its opponent in the first inning by scoring three times by starting Jared Janczak of the TCU to take a 3-0 lead. It started with a doubling of a doubled by Dominic Fletcher, his 23rd double of the year and then, followed by another double, this time of Jack Kenley, to bring in Fletcher. The Razorbacks kept that lead throughout the match, finishing with their fifth shutout of the season. Sunday's win was Arkansas' first shutout in a regional since a 3-0 win over Oral Roberts in the 2017 Fayetteville Regional NCAA. Arkansas has never been left behind in its three regional games this year. year, beating his opponents 20-6.
Wicklander follows suit with clean gem
Like Connor Noland and Isaiah Campbell before him, the young southpaw Patrick Wicklander handcuffed the TCU hitters for five scoreless innings, allowing only three hits, a walk and seven outs on 89 shots. The outgoing seven batters were only one quarter of the season's high and most since the seven-game showdown against No. 18 Tennessee (April 27). Razorback starting pitchers have undoubtedly had their best week of the season in the Fayetteville area. By combining Noland's trio, Campbell and Wicklander averaged 0.99 points in 20.1 innings and defeated 17 batters with only two walks allowed.
Goodheart, good night
Sophomore's sophomore striker Matt Goodheart scored one of the last daggers in the TCU season when he crushed a two-point home record score in the center-right in the fifth inning. The blast was his fourth of the year and ended up chasing Janczak from the match. Janczak only managed 4.2 innings and allowed seven hits with five earned runs, but was eliminated eight times. As for Goodheart, the native of Magnolia, Arkansas, has had four hits in the region and has dominated twice in his last four games.
Good game starts at home
In the past three years, Arkansas at Baum-Walker Stadium has been almost unbeatable. This year, the Razorbacks are 31-6 at home and have lost only one run, that of the future opponent of the Ole Miss super-region. Since 2017, the Hogs are 95-18 and have lost just three home series. This year, the Razorbacks are averaging 8.6 runs per game at Baum-Walker and the pitching team has an ERA of 3.52, while maintaining a batting average of .219.

Razorback Quotables
"I thought it was an outstanding job of Patrick Wicklander. Go out as a freshman, a packed crowd, a night game, had a little late [because of lightning]. And he just went out and did a great job. He only marketed one. He was behind some batters, but he found a way to defend himself from 3-1, 3-2 to get outs, outs. He worked on one or two traffic jams and gave us a chance to really set up our paddock to complete the game. "- Head Coach Dave Van Horn on Patrick Wicklander
"He has grown in recent years. I think it was pretty good ten years ago, but it continues to improve. I mean, did you look at how our players acted when they won the match? It's like a game because they know they've accomplished something, but they have not done what we're really trying to do. So, I do not tell them anything after the match but we all noticed it. That's what we want. "- The head coach Dave Van Horn on the evolution of the culture of the Arkansas program
"I think they played with a lot more energy. Sometimes you may see that you may have to work on some things, but I do not think you would change much because players are nervous or tense. Thursday, I said: "I've had the opportunity to be in many regions and great regions, I've been to Omaha many times and I'm not worried about this. time of the year. " nervous during the season as it is difficult to get to this point. There are many good teams that do not play anymore. Now that we are here, I just want you to go out and have fun. Let's see how long we can play together. You have to keep things going. "- Head Coach Dave Van Horn highlights the energy and focus of his team at this time of year
"I'm just happy. It's a fun race so far. At the end of the season, it will only get better, I know it. I am really excited, honored and privileged to be here. "- Trevor Ezell on his first year in Arkansas with the super-regional
"Honestly, I felt very good. It was probably the best ball I hit with two shots this year. As soon as I hit him, I knew that he had a good chance of going there. It was the best feeling in the world. "- Matt Goodheart in his fifth run
"We always feel good at home. We have the best fans in the country. They can change the game for us and we really feel it on the ground. I think the other teams, when they come to play here, can feel that. "- Trevor Ezell on playing well in front of the crowd
"I thought it was a big game. Do what I can, shoot as many zeros as possible. Whether there was a delay or not, I just have to keep my head upright, just lift as many zeros as I could. "- Patrick Wicklander on the late lightning before the start of the match
