DENVER (AP) – Eddy Pineiro scored a 53-yard goal to defeat, giving the Chicago Bears a wild 16-14 win over the Broncos and their former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio as the 2 points scored 31 seconds earlier had allowed Denver the lead.

The Broncos (0-2) thought the time was up when Mitchell Trubisky approached and pitched a 25-yard pass to Allen Robinson on points 4 and 15 of his 40-yard line. Robinson was approached at Denver 35 by Chris Harris Jr.

The clock showed all the zeros and both teams were arguing on the field, not knowing if they should celebrate a victory or lament a defeat. Then referee Adrian Hill announced that he remained 1 second and that Chicago was using his last stop.

The Pineiro winner sent the Bears (1-1) back to the field to celebrate a win that seemed so unlikely after starring moments earlier.

Cornerback Kyle Fuller, whose five-minute goal-line interception apparently left Chicago's seemingly victorious victory, dropped a 7-yard touchdown to Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders has barely set foot in the right corner of the end zone.

The Broncos lined up for 2 but a delay pushed them back 5 meters. Fangio sent Brandon McManus instead for the extra point and tie. But McManus was absolutely right and the Bears went crazy.

Wait: a flag on Chicago.

Buster Skrine was offside and the Broncos came closer to 1. The attack came back to the surface. Joe Flacco scored an empty backfield and hit Sanders at the goal line in front of Fuller to give Denver a 14-13 lead.

For the second consecutive game, the Broncos failed to get fired, but linebacker Bradley Chubb came close to hitting Trubisky just as he managed to clear Trey Burton's goal for 10 yards. A questionable call on Chubb was blocked for 15 yards and the Bears were suddenly in business on the 45-yard Broncos line.

However, three deficiencies were followed by a 12-man offense in hand-to-hand combat and the Bears faced the 4th and 15th goals out of 40 with 9 seconds to go.

Trubisky found Robinson in the middle of time. Harris's tackle came a second too early for the Broncos, who saw their home-winning streak of 13 wins break.

HONORATION OF MR B

The Broncos watched a minute of silence before the kickoff of Pat Bowlen, who died in June at the age of 75, two years before his induction into the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
