Pinellas County COVID-19 vaccine registration site is back online after Saturday morning outage

Those hoping to schedule an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine in Pinellas County were unable to do so on Saturday morning due to technical difficulties, according to a Tweet from the health department and its third-party supplier.

Dating registration was supposed to open online at 10 a.m. on Saturday, but the site was not working when many people tried to log in.

The health department said its third-party provider suffered a national server outage on Saturday morning, which prevented appointments for Pinellas County from posting. The server problem was corrected on Saturday afternoon and the site was back online around 1:45 p.m.

Pinellas County recently received 8,000 additional vaccines for those 65 and over. However, everyone who wants the shot has to book an appointment online and there is no waiting list. The health department says appointments should fill up quickly.

Patients must show proof of Florida residency to receive a vaccine. Part-time residents will be required to provide a part-time rental agreement.
