The Detroit Pistons might not wait until the March 25 trade deadline to move veteran point guard Derrick Rose.
The Pistons are reportedly in talks to transfer Rose to the New York Knicks. Other teams are interested, but in any case, Rose seems doomed to be moved.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Knicks are trying to acquire Rose and other teams are interested. He reported that Detroit and Rose agreed that a trade would be the best for both parties.
Rose, 32, has appeared in 15 games, averaging 14.2 points and 4.2 assists.
The Pistons signed Rose to a two-year, $ 15 million contract on July 6, 2019, when they had plans to compete for a playoff berth. Now that they’re in the middle of a rebuild and started at 5-17, it doesn’t make much sense for them to hang on to the former NBA MVP.
