Pit bulls reportedly attacked and killed the owner in Texas

A Texas woman died Saturday after being "attacked by her two pit bull terriers," police said.

Police arrived at North O'Connor Road to help the fire department, which was summoned to a veterinary center for "information that a woman would need medical attention," police said in a statement released on Tuesday. Facebook.

The fatal encounter took place at O'Connor Animal Hospital, Fox 4 News reported, citing the police.

According to staff members, 33-year-old Johana Villafane appears to have been seriously injured after being attacked by the pair of dogs, the authorities said.

According to the police, the dogs continued to be aggressive even as staff and workers tried to intervene and help Villafane to help Villafane.

"Due to the constant aggression of the dogs, an officer unloaded his service weapon by hitting and killing both dogs," police said.

Villafane was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but did not survive, the police said.

"The initial investigation revealed that dogs had been quarantined at the veterinary clinic for observation due to a recent bite," the press release said. "The owner had come to the clinic to feed the dogs and stood outside in a training area when the attack occurred."
